Parker's air header manifold with up to 20 Parker Hi-Pro ball valve outlets, assembled to the body using either welded or taper threaded nipples. The air header manifolds are used to distribute air from the compressor to the required locations mentioned below. The air headers are designed to reduce the number of potential leak paths rather than fabricating instrumentation connections with tubing, this in turn will reduce labor costs.

The valves are screwed onto the welded lugs on the central air header then the tubing is inserted into the double ferrule fitting on the valve outlet. The Distribution manifolds for these platforms are flanged one end to locate onto nominal bore pipe. The lower plugged end can be used a vent or drain. Parker can manufacture these in various combinations adding pairs of valves to suit all customer requirements.

Instrument air, filtered with a range of 0 to 20 PSIG, is used for supply to actuators on pneumatic instruments such as steam flow meters, pressure controllers and valve positioners. Instrument air in a facility  is used to supply motive force for control valves. In older facilities 3- 15 PSIG is used as a signal for control and feedback from pneumatic transmitters and valve positioners to pneumatic controllers in a control room. The Instrument air supply should be of the highest quality air you can get with compressors and air driers. Most plants will also have a redundant air compressor and drier for the Instrument side. It is not good to use plant air as that has moisture and oil within it and can either freeze or cause contamination of the instruments themselves.
